Andrea Böjti
Creative Director
When companies decide to advertise in a prestigious publication they often need to adjust their corporate image to suit the readership profile. Not only must we produce a magazine that is readable and stylish but we must also advise our clients on how they can mold their message and corporate look to achieve optimum results. Having worked with hundreds of clients through essential magazine over the last 10 years, we have built a wealth of experience in dealing with just that.
Having been with essential since day one, Andrea is integrally involved with all aspects of the business.
Susanne Whitaker
Production Manager
As Production Manager, my job is to bring the different elements of the magazine together in time for our monthly deadline. I get a real buzz from seeing each edition take shape and love having a sneaky peak at upcoming features and stories. For 3 weeks of every month I’m pretty calm and collected but when artwork week begins it’s action stations. Being a new mum, it’s a bit of a juggling act and I could do with an extra 4 hours in every day but I thrive on the creative energy. Bring on the next edition!!!
With a degree in International marketing and experience of publishing gained with the Financial Times in London, Susanne joined the essential team in 2002. She works directly with our clients and acts as the main point of contact for all design queries and incoming artwork.
Marisa Cutillas
Associate Editor
The best thing about the editorial in essential magazine is that it’s objective, informative and truly interesting. One of the best parts of my job is discovering the very latest in fashion, cuisine, health, beauty, and anything else that makes life on the coast worth living. I find it rewarding to share all these little secrets with our readers, and always welcome those with interesting news, be it about business, lifestyle or general interest.
Marisa has a degree in Law and Arts, majoring in Ancient History and Literature. Having worked as a teacher and Director of Studies, her passion lies in the English language and management. At essential, she is responsible for coordinating contributors and for writing numerous articles, including beauty, fashion, health and art.
Belinda Beckett
Journalist & Associate Editor
As Associate Editor with a passion for feature writing, the theming of our monthly issues on diverse topics, from décor and travel to food, fitness, famous people and - my favourite subject - the opposite sex, gives me huge scope to wax lyrical!
Better still is the opportunity to meet the coast's colourful characters in person and bring readers a taste of the incomparable Marbella lifestyle in the way I do best - through the power of the written word.
Belinda, a qualified NCTJ journalist, has worked for the Daily Express, freelanced for national magazines and travelled the world as Features Editor on the UK Travel Trade journal, Travel Weekly. Since packing up her PC for Spain in 1992 she has worked in TV and written for many of the coast's English language publications.
Mariano Jeva
Accounts Manager
Being responsible for the "smooth running" of the accounts and tax department in such an important company is a big challenge. It requires me to draw from all the knowledge and experience I have gained through my professional career.
The client account aspect of the job is probably the most enjoyable as it gives me the opportunity to get out nd about in this beautiful part of the world and have face to face contact with our clients.
Mariano has a degree and MBA in business administration and was previously employed as a University lecturer in accountancy in his native Argentina. Since arriving in Marbella he has specialised in the real estate market, but eventually settled with essential and is now responsible for all client accounts.
Mónika Böjti
Administration
In any busy company good organization is key and I'm happy to manage the smooth running of the office in my capacity as administrator. We have a small fun team and I enjoy working closely with each department. I like the fact that I'm in a very dynamic environment that creates something enduring, exciting and new everyday. I have a passion for art and find the creativity inspiring and fresh.
Monika plays a key part in the team as the first point of contact for all incoming calls and visitors to the essential offices. With a degree in property management, her main functions are to manage the reception area, to offer support to the accounts department and to deal with the administration.
Inma Aurioles
Lead Graphic Designer
For me, it’s always the start of a big adventure when we begin working on a new edition of the magazine. It begins when I receive the text and images for the first article and ends when I see my work on the printed page. The challenge is to make all the pieces of the puzzle fit on the blanc 23 x 30 canvas in a way that’s both attractive and effective, whilst working against the clock. Every month I think we won’t make the deadline but we always do. The uncertainty, the frenzy and the satisfaction of seeing our work on the streets makes my job both fascinating and exciting.
Inma was studying for a degree in Advertising and Public Relations at the University of Málaga when her interest in graphic design began. After completing several further design courses she worked as a freelance designer for other publications and advertising agencies in Marbella before joining the essential team in 2005.
